We want every purchase from Hobby Box to be one you are completely satisfied with. If something is not right, we will make it right. This page explains exactly how our return and refund process works, what is eligible, and what to expect at every step.

Your Return Window

You have 30 days from the date you received your order to request a return. The 30-day window begins the day your tracking shows the order as delivered. After 30 days, we are generally unable to accept returns, with the exception of authenticity disputes, which carry no time limit under our Authenticity Guarantee.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition in which you received it. It must be unused and, where applicable, in its original packaging. You must be able to provide your order number or proof of purchase. Items that do not meet these conditions may not be accepted for return.

Items That Are Final Sale

Because of the nature of collectibles, the following categories are not eligible for return or refund except in cases where the item arrived damaged, was not as described, or is found to be inauthentic:

Opened sealed products. This includes booster boxes, booster packs, blaster boxes, hobby boxes, and any factory-sealed trading card product that has been opened. Once a sealed product is opened, it cannot be returned. This policy is standard across the collectibles industry and exists because opened sealed products cannot be resold. If you are unsure whether to open a product, contact us first.

Graded cards where the grading company’s case seal has been broken or tampered with after you received the card.

Gift cards and store credit, which are non-refundable under any circumstances.

Digital products, if any are ever offered.

How to Start a Return

Do not ship anything back without contacting us first. Items returned without prior authorization may not be accepted.

To initiate a return, email hello@hobbyboxny.com with your order number and the reason for the return. We will review your request and respond within 1 to 2 business days. If your return is approved, we will email you a prepaid return shipping label. Returns by mail are completely free — you pay nothing to return an eligible item.

Pack the item securely, ideally in the original packaging or similar protective materials, attach the label, and drop it off with the carrier. Once it is in transit, we will monitor the return shipment on our end.

You may also return items in person at our store at 2600 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11234 during regular store hours, daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Bring your order number.

Refund Processing

Once we receive your returned item, we will inspect it and notify you of the outcome by email within 2 business days of receipt. If your return is approved, your refund will be issued to your original payment method within 10 days of us receiving the item.

Please note that after we issue the refund, your bank or card issuer may take additional time — typically 3 to 5 business days — to post it to your account. This delay is on your bank’s side and outside our control.

If more than 15 business days have passed since we confirmed your refund was approved and it has not appeared in your account, contact us and we will investigate.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged, contains a defective item, or is not what you ordered, contact us within 48 hours of delivery. Include your order number and clear photos of the item and the packaging as received. We will arrange a replacement or issue a full refund and cover all return shipping costs. These situations are handled on a priority basis.

Exchanges

We do not process direct exchanges. The most efficient way to get a different item is to return the one you have and place a new order. Once your return is approved and your refund is on its way, there is nothing stopping you from ordering the item you actually want.
